Originating from Mount Wellington seen in the distance and flowing under the Princes Highway at Stratford Victoria, the Avon empties into Lake Wellington which is part of the Gippsland Lakes complex !

When walking along the Avon River near Stratford one of the things that may surprise you is the appearance of a Water Dragon or if you are lucky the whole family of Water Dragons!
